Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based labor and delivery nursing care, following AWHONN standards
• Manage and monitor patients in active labor, escalating care when needed to ensure safe outcomes
• Circulate and scrub for cesarean sections and assist in post-op recovery when required
• Perform newborn care and neonatal resuscitation (NRP) as needed
• Operate fetal monitoring and interpret non-stress tests and C-EFM tracings
• Float to Mother/Baby unit as needed and collaborate with postpartum teams
• Document thoroughly in Epic and adhere to Epic hardstop requirements
• Precept and mentor colleagues when asked, contributing to a stronger unit

Qualifications

• Active RN license (pending licenses are not accepted — must be fully licensed prior to submission)
• Minimum 3 years of relevant Labor & Delivery experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (BCLS), FHM, NRP; AWHONN Advanced is a hardstop (C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
• Experience with circulating and/or scrubbing for C-section preferred
• Comfort and experience with newborn care and baby-friendly practices
• Ability to float to Mother/Baby unit and perform non-stress tests
• Epic charting experience or willingness to quickly adapt to Epic hardstops
• Precepting experience preferred but not mandatory

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor and Delivery management and AWHONN standards
• Fetal monitoring (FHM), C-EFM interpretation, and non-stress testing
• C-section circulation and scrubbing techniques
• Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and newborn care
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency OB interventions
• Telemetry interpretation and maternal/newborn assessment
• Excellent clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills
• Comfort documenting in Epic and following charting hardstops
