Shift Type: Rotating day shifts: Every other weekend (Saturday or Sunday) plus two weekdays, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, day shift (36 hours/week typical; 48 hours may be guaranteed at times). Schedule follows a Sunday–Saturday client calendar and requires flexibility to float between units.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely and in line with facility policies
• Perform nursing assessments and record vital signs to detect changes in resident condition
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during treatments and resident exams
• Observe and document resident conditions, notify supervisors and families of significant changes
• Coordinate and assign nursing duties on the unit to ensure resident needs are met
• Maintain accurate documentation for admissions, discharges, transfers and incident reports
• Manage unit narcotics records and ensure controlled substance accountability
• Participate in care plan development, complete nursing assessments and update resident care plans
• Support orientation, training and evaluation of nursing personnel to maintain high-quality care
• Inspect resident rooms and common areas to ensure comfort, cleanliness and safety

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (must be active at time of submission)
• BLS (AHA) certification required and current
• Minimum 2 years of experience in LTC, SNF, or Med-Surg settings
• At least one successful travel RN assignment completed (please note on work history)
• Current certifications and skills checklist less than one year old
• Two supervisory references from within the past two years
• Willingness to float between units and work a Sunday–Saturday client schedule
• Comfortable working in a facility with dogs, cats and aviaries on site
• COVID-19 vaccination strongly preferred; if declining, must be willing to wear a mask

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and narcotics recordkeeping
• Thorough nursing assessments and care planning
• Vital signs monitoring and resident observation/reporting
• Accurate documentation for admissions, discharges, transfers and incidents
• Staff assignment, coordination and basic supervisory skills
• Familiarity with Nursys and credential verification processes
• Ability to perform audits, complete special projects and follow facility procedures
• Strong communication with physicians, supervisors, residents and families
