Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide thorough occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve daily living skills and functional independence
- Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs, and support staff to coordinate patient-centered care
- Document patient progress accurately and timely in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on strategies, adaptive equipment, and home safety
- Participate in care conferences and contribute to discharge planning for safe transitions
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, regulatory standards, and best practice guidelines
Qualifications
- Active California Occupational Therapy license required
- NBCOT certification preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility immunization requirements
- Comfort working in a post-acute rehab environment with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Education
- Bachelor or Master of Occupational Therapy (or equivalent) from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL assessment, adaptive equipment recommendations, and therapeutic activity design
- Knowledge of post-acute rehabilitation practices and discharge planning
- Proficient documentation practices and ability to use electronic medical records
- Strong clinical reasoning, patient education, and family-centered care approaches
- Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting
