Roles & Responsibilities

• Plan and lead engaging activities that support social, physical, and cognitive wellness for elderly or disabled participants
• Assist participants one-on-one and in groups to encourage participation and independence
• Observe and report changes in participant behavior or needs to clinical staff
• Set up activity spaces and materials to ensure safe, accessible sessions
• Document attendance and activity outcomes clearly and on time
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to tailor activities to participant goals
• Communicate respectfully with participants, families, and staff to build trust
• Support a positive, inclusive atmosphere that honors participant dignity and choice

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• One year experience in a patient activities program with the elderly or disabled in a health care setting preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
• Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM for the duration of the assignment
• Willingness to complete required background checks and any site-specific onboarding

Education

• High school diploma or GED

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with older adults
• Activity planning and facilitation for groups and individuals
• Basic documentation and recordkeeping skills
• Awareness of safety and infection control practices in healthcare settings
• Patience, creativity, and the ability to adapt activities to differing abilities
• Teamwork and collaboration with clinical and support staff
