Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care across medical and surgical units
• Float seamlessly between units, adapting to different team workflows and patient needs
• Monitor and manage patients with wound VACs and chest tubes safely and effectively
• Use Meditech EMR and Pyxis for accurate documentation and medication administration
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes
• Maintain professional nursing attire and adhere to unit policies and patient safety standards
• Participate in unit-specific orientation to ensure competence in each area you support

Qualifications

• Active RN license required; travelers must obtain State of Hawaii license by assignment start
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; 2 to 10 years of experience commonly accepted
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC are preferred
• Proof of required immunizations is mandatory; medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted
• Experience with Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound VACs, and chest tube management preferred
• Comfortable floating between units and working night shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical strength in medical-surgical nursing and acute patient care
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic medical records
• Medication dispensing experience using Pyxis
• Skilled in wound VAC management and chest tube care
• Ability to prioritize in high census situations and adjust to variable nurse-to-patient ratios
• Strong communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary units
