Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care across medical and surgical units
• Administer medications and manage supplies using Pyxis while ensuring accurate documentation
• Care for patients requiring wound VAC therapy and assist with chest tube management
• Document patient care and clinical changes in Meditech EMR promptly and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Float between units as needed, maintaining flexibility and strong assessment skills
• Participate in unit orientation and ongoing training to maintain clinical competencies
• Maintain professional appearance and adherence to the unit dress code (clean scrubs)

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the State of Hawaii required by start of assignment (travelers must obtain prior to start)
• BLS and ACLS required
• 2-10 years of relevant nursing experience (medical-surgical experience preferred)
• Comfort and experience floating between units and adapting to different patient populations
• Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Meditech EMR for charting and documentation
• Experience with Pyxis medication systems
• Knowledge of wound VAC therapy and chest tube care
• Strong med-surgical assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to manage multiple patients safely within posted nurse-to-patient ratios
• Effective communication and teamwork across interdisciplinary teams
