Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate patient care including medication administration and treatments
• Perform clinical assessments and assist providers with examinations and procedures
• Educate patients and families about medications, treatments, and aftercare
• Document clinical findings, interventions, and patient education accurately and timely
• Respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations and participate in office emergency response
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and follow established policies and procedures
• Maintain and use clinical equipment properly and ensure a safe clinic environment

Qualifications

• Pennsylvania Practical Nurse License (active and in good standing)
• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
• Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider (and renew every two years)
• One year of nursing experience preferred (clinic or ambulatory experience a plus)
• Comfortable administering medications and using common clinic equipment
• Ability to communicate clearly, prioritize tasks, and make confident decisions under pressure
• Willingness to travel to other offices occasionally as needed

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and monitoring
• Patient care and clinical assessment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) proficiency
• Medical terminology familiarity
• Basic ICD-10 and CPT coding knowledge
• Patient education and effective communication
• Problem solving and emergency response
• Use of clinical equipment and maintaining safety precautions
