Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, family-centered nursing care to neonates, infants and pediatric patients on a med-surg unit
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely, including central and peripheral line management
• Monitor patients for changes in status and interpret dysrhythmias to initiate appropriate interventions
• Perform oncology patient monitoring (chemotherapy patients observed, not initiated) when applicable
• Document patient care accurately and timely in Epic to ensure continuity and clear communication
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology and social services to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate families on feeding (gavage, bottle, breastfeeding), discharge instructions and ongoing care needs
• Act as a reliable team member who can float within the pediatric skillset and support unit staffing needs

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of recent pediatric specialty experience (per job requirements)
• Current BLS required
• PALS preferred; NRP preferred for neonatal experience
• Comfort with IV therapy, phlebotomy and central/peripheral line care
• Experience with recognition and management of dysrhythmias
• Familiarity with Epic or computerized documentation systems is preferred
• Ability to float within pediatric specialties and work nights
