Shift Type: Variable 12-hour shifts, traveler’s choice of Day or Night. Day 4x12: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (typically 4 shifts/week, scheduled across weekdays and weekends as needed). Night 4x12: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (typically 4 shifts/week). 3x12 option also available by traveler choice. Note: shifts will be either Days or Nights (not routinely rotating), occasional exceptions for urgent needs.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Take and interpret vital signs for adults and pediatrics and report abnormalities promptly
• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, toileting, and dressing
• Perform safe patient transfers and ambulation assistance using proper equipment and techniques
• Assist with pressure injury prevention, turning and repositioning, and skin care
• Complete point-of-care glucose testing and document results accurately
• Use ECSP to chart care and report any change in patient condition to the care team
• Follow infection control practices, donning and removing PPE and isolation precautions as required
• Support interdisciplinary care for geriatric patients with dementia, Alzheimer’s, TBIs, and behavioral needs

Qualifications

• Active CNA license in another state, and Alaska CNA license application must already be submitted to apply (documentation required)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience with long term care required
• Previous travel experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• BLS certification required
• Experience with LTC or skilled nursing environments and working with geriatric populations
• Ability to provide verification of completion of a formal CNA training program (certificate or transcript) if AK license is pending
• Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s) for a 26-week contract

Education

• Completion of an accredited CNA training program (certificate or transcript required)
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with vital sign measurement (including orthostatic BP), pulse, respirations, temperature methods
• Glucose point-of-care testing and glucometer use
• Pulse oximetry and basic oxygen equipment familiarity
• Experience with Hoyer lifts, Skylifts, and safe transfer techniques
• Pressure injury prevention and incontinence care
• Infection control practices and proper PPE use
• Charting in ECSP or similar electronic charting systems
• Strong observational and reporting skills to communicate changes in patient condition
