Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care and interventions for patients across the unit
• Perform respiratory assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Operate and manage respiratory equipment safely, ensuring appropriate settings and monitoring
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Complete accurate documentation and participate in required competency testing
• Support emergency response efforts and follow ACLS/BLS protocols as needed
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and maintain clinical competencies

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license (state of Ohio licensure or reciprocal as required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist or willingness to complete
• Ability to pass required health screenings: fit test, 10-panel drug screen, physical/health statement, and TB testing (2-step PPD or IGRA)
• Up-to-date immunizations per facility policy (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza)
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
• Prior acute care or hospital respiratory experience preferred

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or completion of an accredited respiratory program
• CRT or RRT credential preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and monitoring with an eye for subtle changes
• Airway management and oxygen therapy fundamentals
• Familiarity with respiratory equipment and safety protocols
• Competency with documentation and electronic health records
• Infection control practices and adherence to facility policies
• Calm, clear communication during high-pressure situations
• Ability to learn facility-specific procedures and Trinity competency standards
