Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality cardiopulmonary care in accordance with physician orders and department policies
• Administer respiratory therapy treatments and monitor patients for therapeutic effect and side effects
• Set up, adjust, and monitor mechanical ventilators and provide associated critical care duties
• Perform airway management and tracheal suctioning safely and effectively
• Maintain knowledge of various oxygen delivery methods and associated equipment
• Stand and walk for long periods while delivering hands-on patient care and monitoring

Qualifications

• Experience providing cardiopulmonary and respiratory therapy services as described in the role
• Demonstrated ability to set up and monitor mechanical ventilators and perform airway management
• Comfort with performing tracheal suctioning and other critical care respiratory procedures
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods and work rotating weekends and on-call shifts
• Willingness to work in an environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and the equipment used to administer oxygen
• Skill in administering a variety of respiratory therapy treatments and monitoring responses
• Competence with mechanical ventilator setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Airway management techniques including tracheal suctioning
• Patient assessment and cardiopulmonary monitoring
• Awareness of infection control practices in a clinical setting
