Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality direct patient care for spinal neuro trauma surgical patients with compassion and clinical precision
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for complex trauma cases (e.g., gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, paraplegia)
• Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in EPIC — timely, clear charting matters
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (surgeons, PT/OT, respiratory therapy) to coordinate patient-centered care
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating concerns promptly
• Maintain required certifications and ensure all demographic and badge-appropriate information is current in your profile

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with Nursys license verification
• Minimum 2 years of experience in spinal/neuro trauma or related Medical/Surgical trauma specialty
• EPIC experience required for documentation and charting
• Valid certification cards and current clinical certifications as required by the facility
• Work history/resume with no gaps greater than 60 days; references available upon request
• Strong clinical assessment skills and comfort managing high-acuity trauma patients

Education

• Active RN license (associate or bachelor's degree in nursing); BSN preferred where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep knowledge of Medical/Surgical and Trauma nursing principles
• Experience caring for spinal neuro trauma surgical patients (quads, paraplegics, gunshot trauma)
• Proficiency in EPIC for documentation, orders, and care coordination
• Competence with post-op surgical care, neuro checks, and complex wound/drain management
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
