Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
Assess, monitor and document patient status and respond to changes quickly
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and the multidisciplinary team to create and implement care plans
Perform advanced interventions as needed, following established protocols and safety standards
Educate and support families during admissions, procedures and discharge planning
Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain unit standards and competencies

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse license (California) or ability to obtain prior to start
Experience or specialty training in PICU / pediatric critical care
BLS; ACLS/PALS preferred or willingness to obtain
Strong assessment, clinical judgment and communication skills
Comfortable using electronic medical records and following unit protocols

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric critical care principles and patient assessment
Ventilator management and advanced airway support for children
IV/medication administration and titration in critical care settings
Family-centered care and clear, compassionate communication
Team-based collaboration in fast-paced ICU environments
