Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, family-centered critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
Assess, monitor, and document patient status and responses to interventions
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to protocols
Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team
Educate and support families during acute and critical situations with compassion
Participate in unit orientation, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

Active RN license in Massachusetts or eligibility to obtain state licensure
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; BLS required
Experience or training in pediatric critical care/PICU (experience level discussed during interview)
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and managing complex cases
Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong pediatric assessment and critical thinking skills
Familiarity with ventilator management and advanced monitoring
Proficiency with medication administration and IV/central line care
Excellent communication and teamwork skills for coordinating patient care
Competence using electronic medical records and documentation best practices
Calm decision-making under pressure and a patient-family centered approach
