Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
Serve as a patient advocate throughout the surgical experience
Direct and supervise personnel assigned to you, ensuring safe, evidence-based care
Collaborate with the Unit Nurse Manager, House Supervisor, and RN Team Leader to coordinate patient flow
Float to other departments when qualified to support patient care needs
Participate in on-call rotation to support surgical services as needed

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (per state requirements)
Experience or demonstrated ability in perioperative nursing: preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care
Comfortable functioning as a circulator and supervising assigned personnel
Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and float to other qualified departments
Strong patient advocacy and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

Perioperative nursing practices and standards of care
Preoperative assessment, intraoperative support, and postoperative monitoring
Patient advocacy and safe delegation/supervision
Ability to function as a circulator and work within the surgical team
Adaptability to float to other units and work on-call shifts
