Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care overnight on the MST unit
• Assess patient status, monitor telemetry and vital signs, and document changes accurately
• Administer medications and treatments per orders while following facility protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and escalate concerns
• Educate patients and families with clarity and empathy to support recovery and discharge planning
• Respond quickly to emergencies and participate in unit-level quality and safety initiatives
• Maintain accurate, timely charting and ensure continuity of care across handoffs

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California (required)
• Current BLS certification; ACLS or PALS as applicable or preferred
• Previous experience on a Medical-Surgical or Telemetry unit preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and comfort managing telemetry monitors
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and time-management abilities
• Ability to work independently on night shifts and adapt to varying patient needs

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Medical-surgical nursing fundamentals and acute care principles
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Patient assessment and prioritization during overnight hours
• Electronic medical record documentation and handoff communication
• Infection control practices and patient safety protocols
