Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate labor, delivery and postpartum care to birthing patients and their families
• Perform continuous fetal monitoring and interpret tracings to ensure fetal well-being
• Conduct postpartum assessments and provide education and support for new parents
• Assist with vaginal examinations and respond promptly to changes in maternal or fetal status
• Document clinical care accurately and efficiently in EPIC to maintain continuity and compliance
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team during deliveries, emergencies and routine care
• Adhere to infection control protocols and manage care for patients with COVID-19 as needed
• Complete required competency testing and maintain up-to-date certifications

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license (required)
• BLS, NRP and ACLS certifications (required)
• Fetal heart monitoring certification (AWHONN or equivalent) preferred
• Postpartum care and vaginal examination experience a plus
• Experience with EPIC charting preferred
• 12-hour shift and night shift experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Completion of required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19 vaccine, TB testing, MMR, Hep B, etc.)

Education

• BSN preferred; associate degree or diploma with active RN license accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Proficient with EPIC electronic health record charting
• Strong postpartum assessment and newborn care knowledge
• Excellent clinical judgment and emergency response skills
• Clear, compassionate patient and family communication
• Teamwork and collaboration within obstetrics and neonatal teams
• Infection prevention practices and care for COVID-19 patients
