Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for patients across the lifespan in a fast-paced ER setting
• Perform triage, assess acuity, and prioritize interventions to stabilize and treat patients efficiently
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely and according to protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
• Respond to and manage emergency situations calmly, initiating life-saving measures when needed
• Participate in call coverage, accepting scheduled 24-hour call shifts and delivering consistent care during those periods
• Mentor and support colleagues by sharing best practices and fostering a teamwork-focused environment

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in Arizona (or compact RN license eligibility)
• Active BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum prior experience in Emergency Room nursing; travel ER experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage acute and emergent patients in a high-volume setting
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and accept 24-hour call rotations

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
• Experience with Meditech 6.0 or similar EMR systems
• Proficiency in IV therapy, medication administration, and common ER procedures
• Excellent critical thinking and multitasking under pressure
• Clear communication skills with patients, families, and the care team
• Comfort with call coverage responsibilities and continuity of care during extended shifts
