Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and other prescribed treatments safely and accurately, following established protocols
• Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after treatment to ensure optimal outcomes
• Educate patients and caregivers about treatments, side effect management, and follow-up care
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient education clearly in the health record
• Participate in specialty competency testing and maintain required certifications and skills
• Promote a culture of safety and infection control in the ambulatory clinic setting

Qualifications

• Active RN license (ability to meet license verification requirements)
• Chemotherapy certification required (Chemo Certified)
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification listed as a preferred skill
• Current immunizations and health screening compliance as listed (TB/PPD or IGRA, MMR, Varicella, COVID-19, Hep B, Tdap, influenza)
• Experience in oncology ambulatory nursing preferred
• Ability to complete specialty competency testing and skills checklists

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of oncology ambulatory care and chemotherapy safety
• Proficiency in patient assessment, triage, and symptom management
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Excellent patient education and communication skills
• Infection control practices and medication administration safety
• Team collaboration and time management in a fast-paced clinic environment
