Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality outpatient hematology and oncology care for adult patients
• Manage and supervise infusion therapy visits and ensure safe chemotherapy administration
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging to guide patient care
• Prescribe and manage therapies, including chemotherapy and supportive medications
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring continuity and clear communication
• Document clinical encounters thoroughly and follow institutional policies
• Cover limited inpatient needs as required during the coverage period

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (required)
• Board certified or board eligible in Hematology/Oncology
• Licensed to practice in New York or able to obtain state licensure in a timely manner
• Comfortable prescribing, ordering diagnostic tests and imaging, and managing infusion therapy
• Experience in outpatient hematology and oncology care (adult population); inpatient experience a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with infusion teams and clinic staff

Education

• MD or DO
• Completion of Internal Medicine residency
• Hematology/Oncology fellowship preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise in hematology and oncology care for adults
• Experience with outpatient clinic workflows and infusion center operations
• Proficiency ordering and interpreting labs and imaging studies
• Safe prescribing practices, including chemotherapy management
• Ability to triage and manage occasional inpatient consults/rounding
• Strong patient communication and interdisciplinary coordination skills
