Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess adult, geriatric and adolescent patients to identify functional needs and therapy goals
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on orthopedic and neurologic rehabilitation
• Document thorough evaluations, progress notes and discharge summaries in NextGen EHR
• Perform fall risk assessments and incorporate prevention strategies into treatment
• Manage a caseload consistent with clinic expectations (approximately 55 visits/week; minimum ~11 visits/day)
• Collaborate with case managers, providers and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Provide patient and family education to support home programs and long-term outcomes
• Deliver post-operative and non-operative care for common musculoskeletal conditions to restore function

Qualifications

• Open to new graduates; preference for clinicians with 1+ years of outpatient physical therapy experience
• Experience or comfort working in an outpatient orthopedic and neurologic setting
• Proficiency with NextGen EHR or willingness to learn clinical documentation workflows
• Skilled in case management and fall risk assessment
• Ability to manage a productive caseload and meet clinic visit/unit expectations
• Current or eligible Physical Therapist licensure for the District of Columbia (licensure assistance may be available)

Education

• Degree in Physical Therapy (program graduates welcome; DPT preferred)
• Open to new graduates; clinicians should have or be eligible for state licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of outpatient evaluation and treatment planning
• Hands-on skills in orthopedic conditions such as total joint replacement, rotator cuff repair care, meniscus tears and plantar fasciitis
• Experience with neurologic conditions including concussion, vestibular/vertigo and Parkinson's disease
• Skilled in documentation best practices and productivity tracking
• Comfortable applying evidence-based interventions for post-operative and non-operative rehab
• Effective patient education and communication skills
