Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients of all ages across outpatient, inpatient, and SNF settings to create individualized treatment plans
• Document assessments, treatment progress, reassessments, and discharge plans accurately in Epic
• Develop and teach home exercise programs and provide patient and family education to promote recovery and independence
• Deliver specialty care including wound care, lymphedema management, pelvic floor therapy, pediatrics, and cardiopulmonary interventions when appropriate
• Perform gait training, prosthetic training, and functional mobility interventions to improve patient outcomes
• Manage caseload effectively and prioritize visits to meet department needs while floating within scope to cover outpatient, acute care, and SNF
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support continuity of care and safe discharges

Qualifications

• Current Alaska Physical Therapist license (AK License) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience
• Epic charting experience required
• Able and willing to float within scope to outpatient, acute care, and SNF settings
• First-time travelers are welcome; pending licenses are not accepted
• Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required to use facility-provided vehicle

Education

• Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program required for licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment, documentation, plan of care development, reassessments, and discharge planning
• Experience with wound care, lymphedema management, pelvic floor training, and pediatrics
• Proficiency with modalities such as TENS, ultrasound, E-stim, cryotherapy, and traction techniques
• Orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary care, gait training, and prosthetic training experience
• Ability to provide home exercise programs and patient/family education
• Time management, scheduling, and the ability to manage variable caseloads
• Familiarity with equipment: Hoyer lift, gait belts, specialty beds, walkers, crutches, and mobility aids
