Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient hematology and oncology care with compassion and clinical excellence
• Perform hospital consults and inpatient management, typically supporting 3–5 hospital patients per day
• Manage a daily outpatient panel (approximately 15–20 patients per day) with efficient, patient-centered workflows
• Collaborate closely with two physicians in practice and the broader multispecialty team to coordinate care
• Document clinical encounters and care plans in EPIC to ensure clear communication and continuity
• Lead patient and family education, helping patients understand diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up
• Participate in quality improvement and practice growth activities within the multispecialty group
• Handle on-call responsibilities professionally and promptly during assigned on-call days

Qualifications

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
• Minimum 1+ year of clinical experience in Hematology/Oncology (required)
• Experience in both outpatient clinical care and inpatient hospital care
• Comfortable with on-call management (10 days/month)
• Ability to work in-person — telemedicine is not an option for this role
• Willing to live within a 40-mile radius or be willing to relocate to meet that requirement
• Not accepting Locum Tenens candidates

Education

• Graduate degree/certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) appropriate to practice

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical knowledge of hematology and oncology management
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system
• Skilled in geriatric care and managing mixed adult/geriatric patient populations
• Ability to triage and manage inpatient consults and outpatient caseloads
• Excellent communication, patient education, and interdisciplinary teamwork skills
• Organized clinical documentation and time-management abilities
