Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography studies, including 2D and 3D imaging, to support early detection and diagnostic care
• Operate digital mammography systems and Hologic 3-D equipment with attention to safety and image quality
• Assist with stereotactic biopsies and needle localizations as needed, providing skilled technical support during procedures
• Complete weekly QA/QC tasks and documentation to maintain equipment performance and regulatory compliance
• Use PACS and Epic for accurate image management and timely charting of patient encounters
• Educate and comfort patients throughout the imaging process, ensuring clear communication and compassionate care
• Maintain required documentation of training, supervised studies, and continuing education for credentialing and licensure

Qualifications

• Current state mammography license (paper certificate/permit required at time of submittal) — pending licenses are not accepted
• ARRT (Mammography) and ARRT (Radiography) credentials as applicable
• BLS certification required
• CRT certification required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience (first-timers accepted with required training documentation)
• Documentation required: 40 hours initial mammography training, 25 supervised studies, 200 mammograms in the last 24 months, 15 CEUs in mammography in the last 36 months, and 8 hours each of 2D/3D digital training

Education

• Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program or equivalent
• ARRT certification in Mammography (or eligibility) and current BLS required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of mammography techniques: screening, diagnostic, and 3-D tomosynthesis
• Hands-on experience with PACS and Epic charting
• Familiarity with Hologic equipment and QA/QC processes
• Proficient in patient positioning, image acquisition, and radiation safety
• Comfort assisting with stereotactic biopsy and needle localization procedures
• Excellent communication, patient education, and teamwork skills
• Ability to maintain meticulous documentation for credentialing and compliance
