Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor patient status and vital signs, recognizing and escalating changes
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the chart
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, and the care team to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families about plan of care and discharge instructions
• Support unit flow by assisting with admissions, discharges, and transfers

Qualifications

• Current LPN or LVN license (state of practice) required
• Med Surg clinical experience (experience preferred; exact years not specified)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtain upon hire
• Ability to work overnight shifts and function effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing or vocational nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med-surg clinical assessment and medication administration skills
• Comfortable with wound care, dressing changes, and basic procedures
• Effective communication and teamwork skills with interdisciplinary staff
• Accurate electronic medical record documentation
• Time management, prioritization, and the ability to respond to changing patient needs
