Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — assist with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Measure and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to nursing staff
- Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Maintain clear, timely documentation of care provided and resident observations
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, and the care team to deliver person-centered care
- Build rapport with residents and families, delivering respectful and dignified care every day
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required) — must meet Pennsylvania state requirements
- CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required based on facility policy)
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate direct patient care
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
- Good communication skills and ability to work well on a team
Education
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Completion of an approved CNA training program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Accurate vital signs measurement and basic clinical observations
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Basic infection control practices and PPE usage
- Familiarity with documenting care and charting (paper or electronic records)
- Strong interpersonal skills and patient-focused bedside manner
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
