Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — assist with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Measure and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to nursing staff
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of care provided and resident observations
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, and the care team to deliver person-centered care
• Build rapport with residents and families, delivering respectful and dignified care every day

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required) — must meet Pennsylvania state requirements
• CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required based on facility policy)
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate direct patient care
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Good communication skills and ability to work well on a team

Education

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Accurate vital signs measurement and basic clinical observations
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic infection control practices and PPE usage
• Familiarity with documenting care and charting (paper or electronic records)
• Strong interpersonal skills and patient-focused bedside manner
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
