Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality non-invasive cardiology care across inpatient, outpatient, clinic and consult settings
• Manage an average daily inpatient census and coordinate admissions (approx. 12-15 admissions/day)
• See clinic patients (about 10 per day) and perform required procedures such as EKG interpretation
• Participate in the 1:6 call rotation to ensure continuous, reliable coverage
• Supervise and collaborate with a team of 4 advanced practice clinicians to deliver coordinated care
• Document care accurately in EPIC and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the cardiology service

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Cardiology (Non-Invasive)
• MD or DO with completion of an accredited cardiology fellowship
• Active or eligible for Virginia medical license (local provider required)
• Experience with inpatient and outpatient cardiology practice and consult service
• Comfortable supervising APCs and leading clinical teams
• Familiarity with EPIC or other major EMR systems
• Ability to complete credentialing process (estimated 120 days) and start ASAP for coverage

Education

• MD or DO degree
• Completion of Cardiology fellowship
• Board certification or board eligibility in Cardiology (Non-Invasive)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical cardiology knowledge for adult and geriatric populations
• Proficiency in EKG interpretation and non-invasive diagnostic evaluation
• Excellent patient communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to manage a high-volume inpatient service and timely documentation in EPIC
• Leadership and supervisory skills for overseeing APC practice
• Clinical decision-making in acute and outpatient cardiology settings
