Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage the cost accounting system to deliver accurate service line profitability analyses and monthly service line and physician practice P&Ls
• Lead the use and maintenance of STRATA systems, including rolling forecast module implementation and feasibility study review
• Prepare and present financial metrics (ROI, payback period, NPV, IRR) to support capital project decisions
• Generate and deliver reports to rating agencies (S&P, Fitch, DAC, EMMA) and support external audit and regulatory reporting
• Partner with clinical and operational leaders to review profitability, validate cost structures, and develop performance improvement plans
• Oversee productivity system utilization, train managers on productivity tools, and respond to ad hoc reporting requests
• Mentor the decision support supervisor and special projects analyst to build team capability and continuity
• Support ERP and leasing software implementations as needed and provide documentation for financial, budget, and labor-utilization decisions

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in cost accounting, budgeting, and/or decision support in healthcare
• Hands-on experience with STRATA financial software or similar decision support/financial systems
• Proven experience publishing P&Ls, preparing reports for audits and rating agencies, and supporting financial planning projects
• Comfort mentoring staff and leading cross-functional meetings with clinical and operational leadership
• Preferred: Master degree (MBA or MHA) and professional financial or healthcare certifications
• Preferred: Experience with hospital contracting, bundled payments, and physician reimbursement

Education

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
• Master Degree in Business Administration or Health Administration (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Cost accounting and service line profitability analysis
• Budgeting, financial forecasting, and financial analysis
• STRATA system expertise and rolling forecast module familiarity
• P&L preparation and decision support for strategic initiatives
• Reporting to external agencies (S&P, Fitch, DAC, EMMA) and audit/regulatory reporting
• Experience with ERP and leasing software implementations
• Strong communication, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills
