Bill Rate: $52,041.60 - $71,557.20 (Without National Certification); $57,241.60 - $78,707.20 (With National Certification)

Roles & Responsibilities

Scrub and assist in cardiovascular OR procedures across neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
Prepare and maintain sterile field and instruments using proper scrub/sterile technique
Anticipate surgeon needs and provide efficient instrument handling during CVOR cases
Work independently within established protocols and collaborate closely with RNs and the surgical team
Document perioperative activities accurately and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Use computer and keyboarding skills to complete required electronic documentation and case tracking

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (required for hires post-2009)
Minimum 1 year experience as a Surgical Technologist with Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) specialty experience
BCLS certification required
Certification by an approved body (NCCT, AST, or NBSTSA) — certification affects pay scale
Proficient computer and keyboarding skills; comfortable with electronic documentation

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (required for hires post-2009)

Knowledge & Skills

Scrub/sterile technique and CVOR procedures
Ability to function independently within established protocols
Sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, and commitment to patient confidentiality
Experience across age populations: neonate through geriatric
BCLS certified
Comfortable with computer-based charting and case documentation
