Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care and assistance to patients
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any concerns promptly
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Support safe patient transfers, positioning, and fall prevention
- Communicate clearly with nurses, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for patients
- Observe infection control protocols and document care accurately
Qualifications
- Current CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification in good standing
- Prior experience in a clinical or long-term care setting preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and health screenings (TB, immunizations)
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
- Ability to work overnight hours and handle the physical demands of the role
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs accurately
- Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and infection control
- Good interpersonal skills for working with patients and families
- Able to follow care plans and report changes in patient condition
- Time management skills to prioritize patient needs during shifts
