Roles & Responsibilities

• Respond quickly and decisively to rapid response activations to stabilize patients
• Assess patient condition, communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team, and initiate immediate interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other staff during emergent situations
• Perform advanced clinical assessments and use critical thinking to prioritize care
• Document events and interventions accurately and promptly in the patient record
• Educate patients and families as appropriate during and after rapid response events

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — eligible to practice in North Carolina (compact license accepted if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong experience or comfort working on rapid response or critical care teams
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in rapid assessment and emergency interventions
• Familiarity with hospital rapid response protocols and escalation procedures
• Ability to manage airways, basic life support algorithms, and urgent medication administration
• Comfortable working in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
• Strong documentation and handoff communication practices
