Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients comprehensively and synthesize findings to guide care decisions
• Analyze assessment data to identify diagnoses and prioritize interventions
• Develop individualized plans of care with clear, achievable outcomes
• Implement evidence-based nursing interventions and evaluate patient response
• Provide meaningful patient and family education to support recovery and transitions
• Document care accurately and timely to ensure continuity and quality
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate safe, effective care
• Promote a safe environment and participate in quality improvement efforts
• Integrate current research into practice and contribute to professional development
• Provide leadership at the bedside and mentor peers when opportunities arise

Qualifications

• Active Montana RN license required
• American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) provider required
• STABLE certification required
• Minimum one year of experience in NICU, Labor & Delivery, ED, or Intensive Care nursing
• Ability to work varied shifts including days, nights, and weekends
• Strong professional demeanor, sound judgment, and ability to perform under pressure
• Willingness to complete stroke competency education as required by facility

Education

• Active Montana Registered Nurse (RN) license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in neonatal assessment and NICU nursing principles
• Strong clinical decision making and problem analysis skills
• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and emotional intelligence abilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and discretion
• Comfort working in a busy, sometimes stressful environment
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning
• Accurate documentation and time management skills
