Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral catheterization procedures, including catheter placement and imaging
• Prepare patients and procedure rooms, ensuring documentation and consents are complete prior to procedure start
• Operate and manage x-ray equipment accurately while maintaining strict radiation safety compliance
• Obtain and ensure hemostasis post-procedure and support safe patient recovery
• Monitor, document, and enter procedural data into MacLab and other clinical systems
• Support efficient procedure room turnover following infection control protocols
• Administer intra-coronary medications per Bayhealth and unit policies
• Participate in ongoing education, competency maintenance, and seek specialty certification such as RCIS

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiologic Sciences or graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program required
• RCIS required if graduate of a Cardiovascular Technology program; ARRT (RT) required if graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program (within 90 days if not already obtained)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• Eighteen (18) months of diagnostic radiology experience OR program completion with program director and clinical site preceptor recommendation
• Preferred: Two years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience including diagnostic, interventional, and electrophysiology procedures
• Willingness to complete a four-month onboarding fellowship with clinical rotations and weekly didactic sessions

Education

• Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences OR Associate Degree from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program (required)
• Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with cardiac catheterization and peripheral procedures
• Skilled in catheter placement, x-ray equipment use, and radiation safety practices
• Experience with MacLab documentation and procedural monitoring
• Ability to perform procedure room setup and turnover according to infection control
• Familiarity with hemostasis techniques and intra-coronary medication administration
• Knowledge of electrophysiology and interventional lab workflows (preferred)
