Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality critical care to NVICU patients, prioritizing safety and best outcomes
• Manage ventilators and advanced airway interventions, and assist with intubation when needed
• Perform and monitor central line and arterial line care with meticulous attention to infection prevention
• Provide EVD care according to unit protocols and collaborate with core staff on neurosurgical cases
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute care plans
• Maintain situational awareness during rapid changes and escalate concerns promptly to ensure patient safety
• Mentor and support unit colleagues, contributing to a positive, team-oriented environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to work in Texas is required for assignment)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (ICU experience is a must)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Comfort and experience with intubation, central and arterial line care, and EVD patient management
• Experience with Meditech EMR is a plus
• Preferred exposure to oncology and neuro patient populations

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and ICU patient assessment
• Advanced airway management and ventilator basics
• Central line and arterial line management and troubleshooting
• EVD care and neurocritical monitoring
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record workflows
• Strong teamwork, communication, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
