Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic occupational therapy evaluations and design individualized treatment plans that help patients regain independence
• Deliver therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, range of motion, fine-motor coordination and daily living skills
• Conduct home assessments and recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications
• Train patients and families on safe transfer techniques, energy conservation, joint protection and use of adaptive devices
• Create, maintain and submit timely, accurate patient documentation and reports in accordance with departmental standards
• Provide sensorimotor integration and visual perceptual-motor remediation therapies as indicated
• Consult with schools, long-term care agencies and other community providers to support patient needs
• Participate in prevocational programming and assist patients returning to or entering the workforce

Qualifications

• Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy required
• Current Washington state Occupational Therapist license required or in process of obtaining
• One year of OT experience preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policy
• Reliable attendance, punctuality and willingness to complete mandatory training and participate in departmental meetings

Education

• Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in occupational therapy evaluations, treatment planning and patient documentation
• Experience with therapeutic exercises, splinting and adaptive equipment assessment and training
• Familiar with home assessments and community-focused care
• Knowledge of sensorimotor integration and visual perceptual-motor remediation techniques
• Comfort working with orthopedic, neurologic, cardiac and balance disorder populations
• Strong communication skills for patient/family education and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Ability to design prevocational activities and assess functional work skills
