Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead urgent care shifts as the Charge Nurse, coordinating patient flow and staff assignments
• Triage and assess patients quickly and accurately in an urgent care/ER setting
• Provide timely emergency interventions and escalate care as needed
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff, promoting best practices and a positive team culture
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform urgent procedures safely
• Document patient care thoroughly and communicate clearly with providers and families
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and ancillary services to ensure seamless care
• Promote patient education and discharge planning to support recovery and follow-up

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (required)
• Must have Emergency Room (ER) experience (explicit requirement)
• Charge Nurse experience required for this role
• Current BLS certification (recommended to have upon start)
• Comfortable working nights and a block schedule for the duration of the assignment
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and leadership skills

Education

• Active RN license in California (required)
• ADN or BSN in Nursing (BSN preferred but not required)

• Triage and urgent care assessment skills
• Emergency interventions and stabilization
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Clear clinical documentation and electronic charting
• Team leadership, delegation, and conflict resolution
• Infection control and safety protocols
• Patient education and discharge planning
