Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage patients promptly using ESI triage to ensure the sickest receive immediate care
• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care including splinting and acute interventions
• Assist with STEMI and stroke processes to support rapid, protocol-driven treatment
• Support procedural care by assisting with chest tubes, central lines, and lumbar punctures
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Meditech
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and the interdisciplinary team for excellent patient outcomes
• Deliver exceptional patient experience using AIDET and communication boards

Qualifications

• Active TX RN license required (temporary license NOT accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC required; PALS or ENPC required
• Minimum ~2.5 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience
• Strong time management skills and comfort floating as needed
• Familiarity with Meditech/EDM is preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with ESI triage and ED triage workflows
• Experience with Meditech documentation and EDM processes
• Hands-on skills: splinting, assisting with chest tubes and central lines, lumbar punctures
• Knowledge of STEMI and stroke protocols and rapid response processes
• Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced ED
• Patient communication skills, including AIDET and use of communication boards
• Comfort working in a 1:4 patient ratio environment
