Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate respiratory therapy assessment, treatment, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies
• Manage and titrate mechanical ventilation settings and rescue therapies to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpret results to guide clinical decisions
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory equipment including Servo I, Hamilton, V60 and Astral models
• Deliver noninvasive ventilation support such as CPAP and BiPAP and manage nebulizer and CPT treatments
• Document care accurately and timely in the Meditech EMR to support continuity and quality of care
• Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient-centered plans
• Contribute to department quality improvement efforts and maintain a patient safety focus every shift

Qualifications

• Active RRT credential required
• BLS, ACLS and NRP required
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• Experience with mechanical ventilation, ABG analysis, CPAP/BiPAP and common respiratory procedures
• Meditech EMR experience preferred by the director
• Trauma experience preferred and will be considered a strong plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation management and ventilator modes
• ABG collection and interpretation
• Hands-on experience with Servo I, Hamilton, V60 and Astral ventilators
• CPAP and BiPAP therapy setup and monitoring
• Nebulizer therapy and chest physiotherapy (CPT)
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record
• Strong teamwork, critical thinking and patient-focused communication skills
