Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, high-quality critical care nursing for adult patients in the Burn/Trauma ICU (BTICU)
• Assess, plan and implement individualized nursing care, prioritizing life-saving interventions
• Safely manage and operate critical care equipment and complex therapies (EVDs, MTP, ventilators)
• Lead and participate in codes and emergency responses with calm, decisive action
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams
• Document care accurately in the Meditech EMR and hand off information effectively
• Mentor peers and contribute to a team-based culture by proactively offering help and asking questions

Qualifications

• Active RN certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (per job posting)
• Demonstrated Trauma, Burn or Surgical ICU experience — candidates without this may not be considered
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills
• Preferred: BSN (nice to have)
• Preferred: CCRN certification (nice to have)
• Comfortable managing wound care, codes, EVDs and MTP protocols

Education

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in Meditech EMR documentation
• Experience with critical care equipment and monitoring
• Ability to manage high-acuity patient ratios (ICU 2:1)
• Skilled in wound care procedures and post-surgical ICU care
• Familiarity with emergency response (codes) and massive transfusion protocols (MTP)
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization and interdisciplinary collaboration
