Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality occupational therapy care for patients across the lifespan in both outpatient and inpatient settings
• Perform home visits and village-based care, bringing appropriate portable therapeutic tools and programs
• Develop and modify individualized, evidence-based plans of care that reflect age- and patient-specific needs
• Collaborate frequently with medical providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care
• Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner per organizational standards
• Utilize ADL training, therapeutic exercise, ultrasound and electrical stimulation modalities as appropriate
• Demonstrate cultural competence and professional conduct while serving diverse populations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program (required by posting)
• Licensed in good standing as an OT in Alaska OR hold a good-standing OT license in another state and be awaiting Alaska licensure
• Current NBCOT certification
• Current BLS certification
• Immunizations or acceptable titers for: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Tdap, Polio (per employer requirements)
• Ability to pass background checks, national/criminal checks, drug screen, OIG/SAM/sex offender registry checks and provide required documentation (photo ID, SSN card, education transcripts, references)
• Comfort and willingness to travel to villages and perform community- and home-based care

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy (from an accredited program)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in patient documentation and medical correspondence
• Strong skills in evidence-based practice and care plan development
• Experience with ADL training, therapeutic exercise, and outpatient/inpatient OT interventions
• Familiarity with ultrasound and electrical stimulation modalities
• Ability to communicate effectively across cultures and with multidisciplinary teams
• Competence in adapting care for diverse age ranges and diagnoses within OT scope of practice
