Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered oncology nursing care on a med-surg oncology/women's surgical unit
• Assess and monitor patients, responding to changes in condition with clinical skill and urgency
• Administer treatments and medications safely, following protocols and documenting care in Cerner
• Support and educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and discharge planning
• Assist with occasional procedures such as pelvic exams, echo monitoring support, and thoracentesis assistance
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to maintain excellent patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely charting and adherence to unit policies and safety guidelines

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, ideally with oncology or med-surg background
• Comfortable using Cerner or similar electronic medical record systems
• Chemo certification preferred — candidates with chemo experience will be prioritized
• Ability to work overnight shifts and scheduled weekends as required
• Team-player attitude, strong communication skills, and willingness to learn

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid oncology nursing knowledge and med-surg competencies
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR documentation and workflows
• IV therapy and medication administration best practices
• Familiarity with chemo handling and safety principles (preferred)
• Ability to assist with or support procedures like pelvic exams, echo, and thoracentesis
• Strong assessment, triage, and clinical decision-making skills
