Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care for trauma, burn and surgical ICU patients
• Perform advanced bedside procedures including wound care, EVD management and participation in massive transfusion protocols
• Respond promptly and effectively to codes and emergency situations
• Use Meditech for accurate, timely clinical documentation and care coordination
• Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain ICU patient ratios and safely prioritize care in a fast-paced environment
• Communicate clearly with patients, families and team members to support informed, compassionate care

Qualifications

• Current RN certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (Trauma, Burn or Surgical ICU experience is a must)
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking and communication skills
• CCRN certification preferred
• BSN preferred
• Comfortable working with critical care equipment and in high-acuity settings

Education

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience with Meditech electronic medical record
• Skilled in wound care and management of external ventricular drains (EVDs)
• Familiarity with massive transfusion protocol (MTP) processes
• Proven ability to respond to and manage codes
• Comfortable using and troubleshooting critical care equipment
• Ability to work effectively in team-based ICU settings and maintain 2:1 patient ratios
