Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support mobility and safe transfers while encouraging resident independence when possible
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Assist with feeding and nutrition, including meal setup and documenting intake
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
• Follow infection control procedures and facility policies to keep residents safe
• Build meaningful connections with residents and families to support emotional well-being

Qualifications

• Active Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willing to obtain prior to start)
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass facility-required health screenings
• Background check and drug screen clearance as required by the facility
• Comfortable working in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting; experience preferred but new grads with certification are welcome

Education

• GNA certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable and confident assisting with ADLs and mobility support
• Basic clinical observation skills and ability to recognize changes in condition
• Good communication and teamwork skills when collaborating with nurses and interdisciplinary staff
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
• Compassion, patience, and a resident-centered approach to care
