Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents, promoting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Document resident observations and care provided in a clear and timely manner
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
- Participate in resident care planning and follow assigned care plans
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (state registration required; Pennsylvania certification preferred)
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by facility
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain promptly
- Reliable, compassionate, and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Good communication skills and attention to documentation detail
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with activities of daily living and basic patient care
- Familiarity with taking and recording vital signs
- Infection control practices and proper PPE use
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
- Ability to follow care plans and escalate clinical concerns appropriately
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
