Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear medicine and PET/CT exams with precision and compassion to support accurate diagnoses
• Administer, document, and manage radiopharmaceuticals safely, following state and federal regulations
• Execute routine quality control procedures to ensure imaging equipment is performing optimally
• Assist radiologists and clinical staff during exams and therapeutic procedures to deliver seamless patient care
• Complete thorough documentation for interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams
• Verify orders and patient information to ensure timely, accurate performance and reporting of procedures
• Participate in hospital quality initiatives and help improve patient outcomes through measurable contributions
• Support distribution, billing, and archival processes so records are accurate and accessible

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited program or equivalent
• ARRT certification in Nuclear Medicine or NMTCB certification required
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification required
• Preferred: One (1) year post-graduate experience as a registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist
• Demonstrated knowledge of radiation safety and radiopharmaceutical handling
• Ability to work effectively in a busy acute care environment and maintain professional composure
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and comfort with clinical documentation systems

Education

• Graduate of an Allied Health/CAHEA accredited Nuclear Medicine program

• Nuclear Medicine imaging and PET/CT procedures
• Radiopharmaceutical handling, decay calculations, receipt/return and disposal protocols
• Radiation safety and regulatory compliance
• Quality control checks and imaging equipment troubleshooting
• Patient care techniques for safe, respectful interactions
• Clinical documentation and archiving best practices
• Basic computer applications and clinical information systems
• Teamwork, interpersonal communication, and assisting radiologists during procedures
