Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, patient-centered labor and delivery nursing care in a high-volume Level IV unit
• Continuously monitor fetal and maternal status using EFM and other fetal monitoring technologies
• Assist with and circulate for C-sections and support SVD, TOLAC and other obstetric procedures
• Perform internal monitor placement and manage IUPC, FSE and other monitoring devices when competent
• Respond rapidly and effectively to obstetric emergencies, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
• Document care accurately in Meditech EMR and maintain clear communication during handoffs
• Support a 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratio while maintaining safety, advocacy and compassion

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Texas (or compact RN license where applicable)
• Current ACLS, BLS and NRP certifications
• Proven competency in EFM (electronic fetal monitoring) and SVE competency required
• Experience circulating for C-sections and comfort with obstetric emergency response
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Able to work rotating shifts including nights and alternating weekends
• Posted experience notes: listing shows 1 year required, unit prefers clinicians with 2+ years of L&D experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in fetal monitoring (EFM) and interpretation
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR workflows and documentation
• Comfort with IUPC, FSE, Toco and external/internal monitoring equipment
• Skilled in SVD, cerclage care, C-section support and TOLAC management
• Strong teamwork, communication and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to thrive in a high-volume Level IV labor and delivery environment
