Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents, promoting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Observe residents and report changes in condition promptly to the clinical team
- Support mealtime needs and ensure residents receive nourishment and hydration
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment for residents
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care
- Document care accurately and timely following facility procedures
Qualifications
- GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- Experience working in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with residents and families
- Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and ADLs
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Accurate documentation and charting practices
- Infection control and standard precautions knowledge
- Empathy, patience, and strong teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently during night shift and escalate concerns appropriately
