Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MRI exams using established protocols to provide accurate diagnostic images
- Prepare and position patients with care and clear communication to ensure comfort and safety
- Operate MRI equipment safely, following ARRT and facility radiation and safety guidelines
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses and support staff to optimize patient flow and throughput
- Document procedures and patient information accurately in Epic charting system
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and report any technical issues promptly to ensure uptime
- Educate patients about procedures and address questions to reduce anxiety and improve cooperation
Qualifications
- ARRT-MR certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum 1 year MRI experience required, though first-timers are accepted per posting
- Active state MRI technologist license required (pending state licenses are not accepted)
- Comfortable charting in Epic or willing to train
- Excellent patient communication and teamwork skills
Education
- Completion of an accredited MRI or radiologic technology program
- ARRT-MR certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of MRI physics and common imaging protocols
- Proficiency with MR safety practices and screening procedures
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health record for documentation
- Ability to position patients of varied ages and conditions safely
- Troubleshooting basic scanner issues and escalating as needed
- Good time management to support a steady outpatient/inpatient workload
