Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living—bathing, dressing, grooming—with dignity and respect
- Take and record vital signs accurately to help the clinical team monitor patient status
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Communicate changes in condition to nurses and contribute to care planning
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient chart
- Provide compassionate emotional support and build trusting relationships with residents and families
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (or eligible to obtain) — NC certification preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
- Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
- Reliable, punctual, and patient-centered with strong interpersonal skills
- Previous experience in long-term care or acute care is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED and completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong fundamentals of patient care and infection control practices
- Comfortable with vital sign measurement and documenting observations
- Skilled in safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Clear, respectful communication with patients, families, and the care team
- Familiarity with basic electronic health record (EHR) documentation is helpful
