Shift Type: Wednesday-Sunday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Day); Training: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM for the first 2 weeks
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $85 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals in a correctional psychiatric setting
- Monitor patient behavior and safety, intervening early to de-escalate situations when needed
- Assist with therapeutic activities and follow individualized treatment plans
- Document patient observations, interventions and progress clearly and promptly
- Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and support continuity
- Support admissions, discharges and transfers while maintaining patient dignity and security
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license in good standing (required)
- Registered Nurse (RN) license also accepted — please indicate if you hold RN credentials
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, or correctional healthcare environments preferred
- Ability to pass facility background checks and meet correctional facility requirements
Education
- LPT: Completion of an approved Psychiatric Technician program or equivalent and active LPT license
- RN: Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing and active RN license (if applying as RN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Solid observational skills and accurate clinical documentation
- Knowledge of psychiatric conditions, behavior management and therapeutic communication
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in a structured environment
- Respectful, patient-focused approach with good verbal communication and professionalism
